As we look toward a new year, the agents at Rapp Art have made their predictions for illustration trends that will be at the forefront in 2023.
Mixed Media, Cut Paper and Collage
From digital photo-collage to physical paper sculpture, alternative mixed-media illustration has become very popular. Some of the prevalence of this type of style actually resulted from the pandemic, during which photographers had to find other ways to keep working, and expanded to combine photography with illustration.
“It goes to show that artists are always solving problems and pushing boundaries, and the definition of illustration is ever-changing”, says RappArt Rep Nancy Moore. “Mixed media illustration makes a unique impact.”
