Yasmine Gateau is a French illustrator born in 1979 in the western region of France. She studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, where she specialized in scenography. Early in her career, she worked with theatre and dance companies, bringing visual narratives to life on stage.
In 2007, she turned her focus to illustration, beginning with children’s literature before expanding into editorial and publishing work. Yasmine Gateau’s style is marked by realism and concision, combined with a conceptual and poetic approach to image-making.
Over the years, she has collaborated with Le Monde, Arte Radio, Revue XXI, and L’Obs, among others.
