Ada Zejun Shen is an award-winning illustrator based in New York. Starting her illustration career in 2025, her work is most recognized in science communication and visualization for clients like Science, Scientific American, Quanta Magazine and The Lancet. Her exploration of the intersection of science and art uses semiotics from nature, history and mythology. Working with both digital and analogue media, she brings tactility and clarity together to create meaningful images that intrigue, inform, and invite viewers to reconsider their relationship with the world we inhabit. 

In between works, she likes to spend time reading, listening to historical podcasts and movie commentary, looping certain horror films, and taking care of her carnivorous plant friends, who are flourishing.
