Eva Vázquez is an illustrator who lives in Madrid but dreams of moving to the countryside. She is a regular contributor to Spanish newspapers (El PaíselDiario.es) and international publications (The Wall Street JournalThe Boston GlobeThe Washington PostThe New York TimesCourrier International), as well as numerous specialized magazines on both sides of the Atlantic.

In addition to conceptual illustration, she also works in the publishing world, illustrating books and teaching conceptual drawing classes at several universities. Her illustrations for El País earned her the APIM Award in the Press category in 2020 and the Fundación Cuatro Gatos Award in 2026.

She has been a judge in competitions such as the National Illustration Award, the ABC Museum Illustration Competition, and the Miguel Calatayud Illustrated Album Award.

In addition to her work as an illustrator, she has collaborated in the creation of opening sequences for television programs, cartoon series and sets for plays. She has participated in the exhibitions PostBosq. Una expoExpedición at La Casa Encendida in Madrid, La poética de la ciudad at the University of Évora in Portugal, and La imagen de La Alhambra at the Palacio de Carlos V in Granada.

Her artistic career combines conceptual narrative, where the minimalist use of elements predominates, with elaborate complex scenes typical of the dream world. Her use of space, textures, and creative combination of elements to convey complexities that provide the right tone in each illustration is noteworthy. She is a big fan of Alien and has two cats, a dog, and a pigeon.
