CELEBRATING WOMEN ILLUSTRATORS

In honor of Women’s History Month, we would like to celebrate the incredible women of Rapp Art. Our illustrators are as diverse as the work they produce, coming from all walks of life around the globe. From Anna Godeassi’s surreal harmony of humanity and nature to Nicole Xu’s conceptual manifestations of female companionship, these artists share one commonality; consistently elevating expectations of expertise in the illustration world.

YAO XIAO

Yao Xiao is a China-born illustrator based in New York City. She depicts a poetic visual world where complex concepts and emotions are examined, amplified, and given physical form for editorial print publications, pop music record covers, concert posters, and book covers.

ANNA GODEASSI

Anna Godeassi likes to say she was born with a paintbrush in her hand and her passion has never waned. She attended the IED in Milan, before launching her incredible illustration career. Aside from editorial and advertising work, Anna is also an accomplished children’s book illustrator.

TRACI DABERKO

With over 24 years of professional graphic design and illustration experience, Traci Daberko was fortunate enough begin her career with some of Seattle’s top graphic design agencies.  From branding to print and digital media, Traci is determined to break out of the traditional conventions to help clients find their visual voice.

STEPHANIE DALTON-COWAN

Synthesizing fine art and printmaking methods with photography and custom silhouettes, Stephanie produces assignments for magazines, publishing houses, and advertising agencies, as well as posters and original works for opera, theater, television, and major motion pictures.

KOTRYNA ZUKAUSKAITE

Kotryna Zukauskaite is an editorial illustrator from Vilnius, Lithuania working worldwide. She has focused on translating complex information into comprehensible imagery through visual metaphors and humor.

EVA VAZQUEZ

With a background in Architecture and Animation, Eva Vazquez strives to tell stories intentionally using images and ideas to touch that key lying deep in the heart, or in the brain, but that does not leave you indifferent.

ANDREA COBB

Andrea Cobb is an East Coast based artist who has created illustrations for clients on an international scale in editorial, publishing, packaging, greeting card, retail, institutional and advertising fields.

EGLE PLYTNIKAITE

Egle Plytnikaite’s work is colorful, minimal, and conceptually driven, often utilizing subtle texture to give her work a vintage warmth whilst maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. 

ALISON SEIFFER

Alison Seiffer is an award winning illustrator and print artist based in Montauk, New York. Her illustration work has appeared in publications such as the New Yorker, The New York Times, Popular Science, Consumer Reports, and The Wall Street Journal . She is presently creating limited edition Giclee prints based on the beautiful and unique surroundings of Montauk.

MARGARET KIMBALL

Much of Margaret’s work is about home and the small forests she ventured into as a kid. She works with clients big and small on projects ranging from spot illustrations to hand-lettered logos to murals. Her work can be found on packaging, home decor, gifts, wallpaper, in books, advertising, newspapers, and magazines.

NICOLE XU

Nicole Xu was born in Shanghai, grew up in Vancouver, Canada, and is now based in Brooklyn, NY. She recently graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in illustration and has worked with prominent clients such as the Wall Street Journal, NPR, and The New York Times.

ELIZABETH TRAYNOR

Inspired by art and nature, Elizabeth never stops experimenting with style, media and subject matter. Her expert design sense, skill for realism, constant curiosity, and attention to detail are all hallmarks of her incredibly varied portfolio of work.

CHIARA VERCESI

Inspired by Depero and Escher, Chiara is an Italian illustrator who loves bright colors and clean, geometric shapes.

ISKRA JOHNSON

Iskra’s art practice is rooted in the traditions of contemplative art, influenced greatly by her years as a student of Asian calligraphy and her ongoing design career as a calligrapher and letterform artist. She has provided custom letterform solutions for book covers, logotypes, and package branding for a variety of clients.

PUSHART

Megan Berkheiser, of Pushart, is originally from Pennsylvania and spent much of her childhood creating puppets in a house filled with folk art and old things. She is known for her construction of miniature sets inspired by her drawings, which she carefully lights and photographs.

MARIA HOEY

Maria Hoey of Hoey Comics is the youngest of six children (her brother Peter being the oldest). She has collaborated with her brother on illustrations and comics for over seven years. They currently work together virtually, living on opposite ends of the country.
