Before the ghosts and ghouls come out for Halloween, we have news to share! Read on to see what we’ve been up to this Fall.
Welcome, Tara Jacoby!
In case you missed it, we welcomed Tara Jacoby to Rapp Art earlier this month! Tara is a Philadelphia-based illustrator, art director, plant lover, and dog mom whose fun, conceptual, and somewhat irreverent style has been used by a wide range of clients, including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The LA Times, AARP, Esquire, Macmillan – and her beloved Philadelphia Eagles!
American Gas Magazine
For several years we have been regularly providing illustration for American Gas, the monthly magazine of the American Gas Association which publishes leading-edge reports for natural gas industry professionals. We put together a collection of covers from the past couple of years, demonstrating our artists’ range of abilities to create striking visuals on any subject. See them all here.
Many thanks to Megan Hacker at The YGS Group for the continued collaboration!
College & University Work
The higher education roundup is in – here are some of the awesome College and University projects we worked on for this Fall. Some of the highlights include fun-filled Homecoming posters by Jon Reinfurt and Ellice Weaver; Aldo Crusher’s cover image for Iowa State’s Forward Magazine; and the package that Gwen Keraval illustrated for NC State which is virtually a portfolio of his work; all among many other projects characterized by celebrations of heritage, campus life, and community.

Voices Rarely Heard
“Voices Rarely Heard”, illustrated by Taylor Callery for University of Alberta’s Circle Magazine, was awarded Gold for Feature Design in the Alberta Magazine Awards! The feature article discussed a controversy around cultural programming for indigenous people in prison. Does this programming help incarcerated people heal, or are prisons only perpetuating colonial values?
Many thanks and congratulations to Art Director Marcey Andrews!
“Voices Rarely Heard’s powerful illustrations, equally impactful and conceptually clever, set the tone for eye-opening design.”
