John Jay Cabuay was commissioned to illustrate the cover for middle grade novel The Other Side of the River written by Alda P. Dobbs, releasing in September 2022. This is the sequel to Barefoot Dreams of Petra Luna, which follows the story of 12-year-old Petra Luna and her family emigrating from Mexico to the U.S. during the Mexican Revolution. The series is inspired by true stories from the author’s great-grandmother.
